Reset after Backup Created

Before erasing all the data and settings from your device, reset your device. Since resetting the device to delete all the data like photo, songs, videos and every other stored file from it, creating a backup will allow you to restore the data without losing anything.
  • Creating backup on iCloud
  1. Open the Settings of your iOS device.
  2. Scroll down and find iCloud.
  3. Tap to open and proceed to enable iCloud backup.
  • Creating backup on iTunes
  1. Connect the Device to a computer system.
  2. Click to open iTunes.
  3. Select your iOS device and go to Backups section.
  4. Click Back up Now.

Restoring the Data from Backup

After getting the factory settings, you can restore the data from a backup stored either on iCloud or iTunes.
  • Restoring from iCloud
  1. Plug the device to a power device and have internet network on it.
  2. Open Settings and go to the App & Data.
  3. Tap to Restore from iCloud Backup.
  4. You may need to Sign into your iCloud account.
  5. Select the recently created backup. The restoration will take time.
  • Restoring from iTunes
  1. Connect your iOS device to a computer and open iTunes on it.
  2. Choose your device and go to Summary.
  3. Select the recent backup and click Restore Backup.

Reset All Settings

There is another way to keep the data safely stored in the device. You can choose the Reset All Settings option which will enable you to reset the settings of the phone without losing any data from the device.  All the preferences like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, sounds, General, etc. will be changed to the default settings.
  1. Open the Settings of your iOS device.
  2. Go to General section and navigate to Reset.
  3. Tap the Reset All Settings option.
  4. The device may ask you to enter the passcode.
  5. Enter the passcode and tap again on the Reset All Settings option.
  6. In a few minutes, your device will be reset to its factory settings, and you will not require to restore the data from backup.
By following the methods, you must have reset the device without losing the data from it. The backup facility has helped you recover the lost data. If you want to restore the data after some time, still you can refer the created backups in the cloud service or iTunes.
