No sooner did the calendar turn to November than Microsoft started to roll out Windows 10 October 2018 Update or Windows 10 version 1803 for the users.
If you’re still unaware till now and now want to try out without
wasting time, here are some tips to download and install Windows 10 October
Update.
Before upgrading, your old Windows version to October
Update, check the Windows 10 (1809) system requirements.
Windows 10
version 1809 system requirements:
The minimum requirements are,
• Processor: 1 GHz
or more processor, or SoC
• RAM: For 32-bit (1 GB) and 64-bit (2 GB).
• ROM: At least
16GB (for 32-bit OS) or 20GB (for 64-bit OS).
• Graphics card:
DirectX9 or earlier with WDDM 1.0 driver.
• The display
should be 800x600.
It is always superior to go beyond the minimum value to
enjoy the full advantage of the newest Windows 10 features. If your PC meets
all of the minimum system requirements then it will be enjoyable to upgrade, or
else you may encounter a range of technical issue.
Backup
before upgrading
Before going ahead, it is a good idea to back up your PC in
case something goes wrong during the process of upgrading. Backing up your
system will upload essential data to your cloud service; you can also send or
copy important files to the cloud or in an external drive.
To back up your system,
1. Go to ‘Settings’
2. Open ‘Update
& Security.’
3. And, then
Backup.
Upgrade
through Windows Update
Upgrade through windows update is always the quickest and
safest method of upgrading to a new version of window. If you’re on Windows 10,
then it will automatically download and install the October 2018 Update on your
device, if your device is eligible and automatic updates are turned on in your
system.
To do this,
1. Go to
‘Settings.’
2. Open ‘Update
& Security’.
3. Then, Windows
Update and check for updates.
4. Go through
on-screen instructions and Start download, if Windows 10 October Update (1809)
is available.
After checking for updates your PC doesn’t detect any
updates, there may be some possible reason for this, either you’re already on
the Windows 10 October update version or the new OS is not available for your
system yet. You can wait for some days until Microsoft deploy the OS for your
region.
To download
and install Windows 10 October Update manually
If you can’t wait until Microsoft launches for your region,
then you can also manually download the corresponding ISO file of Windows 10
October Update.
The installation files of the October Update are available
on Microsoft’s Official Website. Go to ‘Microsoft Official Website’ and then
navigate to ‘Media Creation tool’ section, from here you can download the ISO
files into a USB drive and use it as an installation media.
